Yoga for Your Life is offering a 300-hour program that includes advanced asana practice and study in functional, fascial, and energetic anatomy; alignment; and kinesiology. This program will give participants more teaching tools and a sharper eye to be better equiped to assist and support students in both basic and more challenging poses.

You will learn to teach Yoga to individuals and groups with injuries, commonly seen conditions, and unique individual concerns. Central teachings also include advanced sequencing, pranayama, ayurveda, Yoga philosophy, meditation, and other Yogic techniques such as iRest® to help with anxiety and mood disorder.

As a complement to the more active yang asana practice, Yin Yoga is a slow & meditative practice and poses are held for longer periods of time. Cost: $10

Thursday April 6th at 7 p.m.

The purpose of the 5 Noun Exercise is to move the participants from a fragmented, linear way of thinking to a more interrelated way of seeing the world. We first look at how we view the world now to seeing a more patterned way of viewing things. Then we relate dreams to this new view and how understanding the way dreams communicate is related to personal growth. The goal is for you to see how dreams lead you to see your spiritual life as a natural part of the movement of the cosmos rather than seeing yourself as separate from the universe.

This exercise is especially for those who work with their dreams and those who would like to to dream work but don't remember their dreams.

Please bring paper and pen to participate in the process.

There will be handouts available so please register at
We would like there to be enough handout for everyone. Love donation.

On Sunday June 2 - 4 p.m.

Reiki Share is an opportunity to come together as a community to offer support; exchange ideas; and practice in a safe environment. Everyone present will have the chance to give and receive Reiki. Depending on the number of people attending, we will split up in groups of 4-6 to a table and take turns giving (as a group) and receiving Reiki healing energy. We will try to mix experienced Reiki practitioners with newcomers at each table.

Time will also be spent sharing ideas and experiences. This group is in its infancy, so feel free to bring books, readings, and ideas to share with others as we attempt to bring together area Reiki practitioners for the good of all.

If this is your first time, please bring a copy of your Reiki certificate for our files.

May 4th at 7 p.m.

Carl Jung believed dreams were direct communications from the unconscious to the conscious, and therefore an opportunity for personal growth. If you're not familiar with dream interpretation, the process is quite simple: learn to remember your dreams and develop your intuition. But since it's often much easier to interpret someone else's dream than your own, we'll share our dreams in a supportive environment to benefit from each others' intuitive insights.

If you have any recent dreams to share, please type each one up and give it a title. Then bring your written dreams for the group to work on. Love Donation

On the 2nd Thursday of each month, at 7 p.m.
Diane Winn, Brenda Statzer and others will lead us in an evening of chanting, drumming and sharing as women gather to support one another. This sacred fire for women is from the Cherokee tradition as taught by Momfeather Erickson. The coming together of feminine energy and spiritual insights makes this a wonderful event. Some of us honor the Cherokee tradition by wearing a skirit, but this is optional.

On Thursdays at 9:30 a.m.
Gentle Yoga. Asanas/Poses are just one aspect of Yoga. Time will still be spent working with the poses, in addition, we will be looking at the meaning and application of the other Limbs of Yoga as described in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras including the Yamas, Niyams, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana and Dhyana. Suggested Donation: $10.

Kirtan is a listening and interactive sound healing experience. Using call and response chanting with easy, repetitive melodies and joyous danceable rhythms, the songs are sung in the ancient languages of world religions. They set free the chattering mind, deepen the breath, and create a state of calm, where the eternal love that lies in each heart can unfold and open. All ages and faith traditions welcome. Bring a cushion for floor sitting or sit in our chairs.

Pack up your percussion, bring your dancing feet and your singing voice. Invite your friends and come meet new ones. Oh, and those winter blahs? Bring them too, 'cause they're going down! No music experience necessary!

Children are welcome but must be supervised and shadowed by parents.

On the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m.

The purpose of the Sound Circle group is to provide a gathering place where people can vocally express themselves in a non-judgmental, uninhibited way. Toning is the production of long, sustained pitches using vowel sounds and select words. Healing harmonics and overtones are created by the blending of vocal timbres and the volume of the sound created by the participants. Toning circles are going strong around the country and the world. Toning is ages old. Sound has been used in the past and is being used more and more as a vehicle for healing and general well-being. The power of toning backed by positive intention is beneficial not only to the participants but has far-reaching impact.

There is no religious affiliation and even though it may be termed a spiritual pursuit, it is by no means a solemn event. There can be some tremendously exuberant energy created. Each toning session is different according to the persons involved. You do not need to be a "singer." Everybody can benefit by letting the breath move through the vocal cords and listening to his/her own, unique sound. Even if you think you are tone deaf, you can feel safe to try toning in a circle of sound, adding to the group sound as you feel more and more comfortable. It's not about who can tone the loudest or longest. It's about being in the present moment with the healing power of sound.

Kathy Keasey has decades of experience with choirs, vocal coaching and accompanying. Her interest in the healing vibration of sound led her to create the first area Sound Circle while she was Music Director at Unity Church of Peace. Kathy has a Bachelor of Music from Oberlin College, Master of Music from the University of Illinois, and a degree from IUSB as a licensed public school music teacher. She taught high school choirs in the area for 6 years and most recently accompanied the South Bend Chamber Singers, and directed their ad hoc Children's Choir. She is semi-retired, continuing her love of teaching piano and vocal coaching. Love Donation.

On the 4th Tuesday or Wednesday of the month from 7 - 8:30 p.m.

Andrew Harvey once said that if he could take only one book to a deserted island "The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna" would be his choice. The book is written in dialogue form detailing the conversations Ramakrishna had with people that came to see him. It records his moods, his songs, his humor and gives one a sense of what it would be like to be in the presence of a Divine Incarnation. Using wonderful analogies, Ramakrishna discusses some of the most profound spiritual topics and his own spiritual experiences. We will stop often for discussion and sharing. I will have extra copies for everyone.

On Sundays from 11 a.m. to noon.
Do you feel stressed and unable to find time to just Be? Do you find it difficult to meditate at home with so many distractions? Come join us on Sunday mornings. According to the great mystic Meister Eckhart: "Wherever this Word (of God) is to be heard, it must occur in stillness and Silence. We cannot be of greater service to this Word than through stillness and silence. There we can hear and understand it correctly." Sermon 18. We will begin the hour with 20 minutes of silent meditation. We will then do a 5 minute silent walking meditation followed by another 20 minutes of silence. For more information e-mail

On most Friday mornings at 10:00 a.m.
The practice is done with a DVD and involves very basic movements. We have been using the Spring Forest QiGong method and we all find that it really does enhance your energy. There have been times when we all felt exhausted when we came and left feeling fine.
